Any quick and easy updos for homecoming (in a week!)? I have a dress that...?

isn't halter and isn't strapless. It's kind of in between. There's a piece of fabric in the middle and you put it behind your neck.

Anyway, I have long black hair that goes about 6 or 7 inches below my shoulders. Can anyone tell me how to do an actual updo? Not just give me a website or picture? I want to have an updo with curls that won't get loose after dancing for 3 1/2 hours.

I have lots of bobby pins, tresseme curling spritz, regular hair spritz, and a 3/4 or 1 inch curling iron. I also have regular hair curlers. BTW, how do you use bobby pins correctly, should the wavy or straight side be facing up? HELP!!!

Oh boy, a complicated question. Well, here goes!

1. Start with clean, damp hair. Rub a curl enhancer through towel-dried hair and scrunch slightly with fingers.

2. Use an ionic blow drier. Put it on medium heat and blast your roots, lifting sections of your hair, for about three seconds. Then use your fingers to tousle your locks while you blow dry them.

3. Once your hair is completely dry, you can start with the real work. Use a 1" hair curling iron and curl two inch sections of hair, wrapping all the way to your scalp. Do your full head of hair, and make sure to touch the curls minimally! Wait two seconds between locks to make sure they hold their style.

4. Mist all over with hairspray. Use your fingers to comb out the curls so that they aren't as tight.

5. Gather your hair into a high ponytail. Leave out bangs if you have them. If you don't, leave out the face-framing tendrils that naturally fall around your face. Secure the ponytail with an elastic that matches your hair color.

6. Twist and loop the ponytail into a bun and secure under the base of the ponytail with bobby pins (the wavy side faces up!) Don't worry if it looks a little bit messy. In fact, pull out a few strands and re curl them if you want.

7. Now you can recurl or leave the bangs/tendrils. It's your choice.

And there you go! Very simple, very pretty.

It should come out looking like this: http://www.vanessa-pictures.org/albums/A...

Good luck!
